I was instantly gripped by Adelaide and the way she thinks so negatively of herself, when clearly everyone around her perceives her as such a gift and captivating girl. I think the first few pages of formatting almost make it look like poetry which is such a fascinating structure to introduce a novel, showing how disjointed Adelaide's reality is from the way others see her. Romances are also my favourite, so immediately I want to know what is happening with her love life, whether it is going to work out or not, and the secondary characters are also charming.
