I liked the simplistic structure of the text with lots of short sentences and one word paragraphs as I felt it develop the protagonist’s character. I thought the snippets of what could have happened in different universes was really interesting because it shows how a small decision can change the corse of a conversation or even your life in a dramatic way. I also thought the way Lockhart references Adelaide‘s ex boyfriend and brother build up interest and make the reader want to keep reading.
I also like how description of parts of Adelaide’s life is included in seemingly random places though I feel it may have been overdone slightly; having read two of E. Lockhart’s books before ( and enjoyed them ) I think personally that sometimes her novels take a little while to get into. Having said that though I am looking forward to reading this as it has made a very promising start!
I love the cover as the slightly different perspectives illustrate perfectly both the slight and the massive differences in parallel universes.
