You know what you're going to get with an e. lockhart story. You love her for her richness of characters, for the way she makes the every day seem like poetry.

Again, Again will not disappoint.

Told in alternating and then alternate realities, this is a story of a girl who is exploring love and self in the context of one summer and a host of brilliant supporting characters.

I usually don't pick up "alternate reality" stories. To me, that means "sci-fi" or a plot that will be too complicated for me to fall for its characters. But Again, Again isn't too complicated. It jumps, between possibilities and between prose and poetry, but in a way that is easy to read and easy to navigate.

And even though the ending seemed a bit too wrapped up and lovely, it was a book I couldn't put down.
