This book was a really interesting and charming read. I went into reading it not really knowing much about the story as I have found with previous works by E.Lockhart that the less you know and the more surprised you can be by her novels the better. Having previously read 3 very different books by Lockhart (The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks, We Were Liars and Genuine Fraud) I found that this book was nothing like any of those I had read before but also still very fitting with the writing style I had grown to know and love.

It is quiet and simple story at it’s heart, reflecting on love both in the romantic and family sense of the word. There is more to it that I won’t spoil but overall it is a charming and bittersweet story that I would recommend picking up.
