I found this a really difficult book to read. It’s hard to say why really! The story itself is fantastic and really well written with great imagery. I just couldn’t seem to click with the characters or their situation. I loved the idea of the brother/sister relationship and that really was the golden part of this story for me, especially during Toby’s addiction. However, that said I can not deny the wonderful writing and how well it covers issues around grief and addiction. The multiple possibilities was interesting but I think it could have made more of, although I did enjoy it?! This book is so hard for me to pin down. I wanted to give it five stars but I just can’t, it left me feeling meh.
