This book is confusing at first as something happens and then happens several times more in other worlds each time with different outcomes. Adelaide Buchman is studying at the boarding school where her father works. She is staying there for the long summer break and has a job walking several dogs. She is very unhappy because her younger brother is a drug addict and her boyfriend has just told her that he doesn't want to see her any more. Throughout the book she explores her feelings of sadness which she tries to hide by being sparkly and looking for a boyfriend. She misses the relationship she had being the big sister to her brother but doesn't feel she can trust him again. The theme of other worlds is interesting but I felt the actual storyline wasn't very exciting.
