This book is unique in every sense of the word. I enjoyed this book and especially the protagonist, Adelaide. I felt like I was there with her and like I wanted to be her friend. She merges the past and the present together into a stream of consciousness that means we are right there with her.
This is written in a way that I'd not experienced before and did take a few pages to get into. It jumps between time zones and storylines BUT it does tie together nicely. Adelaide is a strong protagonist and appears older than she really is. She seems to have experienced so much for her age - her brother's addiction, the throws of young love and relationships etc.
I did enjoy this book and would look forward to reading something else by E.Lockhart again. It's a great little book.
