I really enjoyed this book. I like to branch out into YA because it makes me feel that age again. This story is heartfelt, troubling and well written.
I really felt for the characters, especially the dad. Seeing him deteriorate across the novel was heart wrenching really and something that many of us could relate to.
I also loved the best friend duo and the fact that they both need each other. It shows the value of friendship and is the testament to just what it means to have a tight knit community around you in times of need.
I found this to be a good story with lots of relatable moments. I’d happily read more by the author if the opportunity came about. Perfect for any YA fan or if you’re wanting to step back in time to your wanting a lighter book to see you through the warmer weather.
Relatable. Honest. Irrational. Quintessential reading for today.
