Every chapter starts with a new way the world can end; something new that Lenny worries about. As the book progresses, Lenny starts to spiral out of control and learns to deal with her problems rather than just avoiding them. This book is one that teaches the lesson that sometimes, when you love someone you have to let them go.
I enjoyed this book immensely. It was nice to have such a sad situation narrated not by the person it was happening to, but by someone it was affecting. Along with a cancer diagnosis, Lenny has to worry about her best friend moving away, a school play, and a lobster.
