Loved the cover and blurb for this book. I thought it had a great couple of opening chapters and although I knew it would be hard hitting, I wanted to read more of Lenny's story. Also, in the opening chapters, we are introduced to her best friend Julian and he seemed like a character I was going to love.
This is a tricky one to review as the story of Lenny's dad and his struggle with terminal cancer, along with their family dynamics on a day to day basis was an engaging one that I really enjoyed. However, there were aspects to this that I didn't enjoy so much. For example, I didn't like the scenes between Lenny and her dad's doctor (I won't spoil the book by explaining why) as this just didn't feel realistic to me. And I felt that Julian fell slightly short of the excellent character he could have been.
But Lenny has a good heart and if you're in the mood for a heart tugging YA novel, this will be for you!
