The story and characters are very intriguing. You want to read on from the very beginning. The writing style is extremely easy to follow. The layout of the book is not confusing at all which makes this an easy enjoyable read.
This is a book set in the modern day, following a family who seem completely normal from a distance and from some aspects they are. Except when you look in closer you find out the everyday struggles of a family living in fear.
Emma- the main character- is a very well written character. She has a big heart even when she is suffering. Her dad suffers from cancer and this story details a lot of the tribulations and pain that come with having a loved one live with this disease. Living like this prompts a lot of fear but Emma fears something else. As most do and even as she does, you would fear for her dad but Emma fears for the most unexpected, which is an extremely interesting concept for the reader to follow.
