One word I could use for this book? Atmospheric!! The descriptions of the town and surroundings in this book make you feel like you are under the cloud that hangs over Grace. There is a feeling of doom on the way and the churches feel like fire and brimstone is going to be cast down. Summer Ryan has gone missing and everyone is looking for her - her family, the police and all the townspeople. Her twin sister Raine is more determined than anyone, along with two unlikely allies. The story is one of suspense and foreboding as a few other girls have gone missing in the past and have not been found.
I loved the suspense in this story,the descriptions of the area and the relations between the various factions, police, family and the church. i especially loved the relationship between Raine and Summer, told through flashbacks. The characters of Noah and Purv are superb, even in a dark book like this they bring laugh aloud moments.
