The characters already have created full on imagery of the types of people and colloquialisms they all share along with the protagonist being extremely endearing, also a female which is a good read when I usually go for the chick-flick variety for relation. I want to know what mysteries are ahead.
The short mention of the missing person also keeps you on your toes and the plot rallies to a head quickly (for example the fires) so you want to read more and more, it will be interesting to see what direction and interaction the main character has with these incidences and if there are any twists and turns along the way! Beautiful writing style and really interesting (should I say) introduction to the chapter, creates an heir of confusion and curiosity of the peculiar people they are in the community.
