I picked this book up at a coffee shop exchange. I was instantly drawn to it. As I started to read the book I realised the characters are from the south in the United States of America. At first I found the way the author writes irritating but then after I started to read more and understand how the characters spoke it got easier. The use of local language takes the reader to the story and characters and makes you feel as if I am watching them from above. One of the main characters Raine likes to steal things. She reminds me of people I used to go to school with. Overall the more I read through the book the more invested I got in it. Sometimes I think about the characters and wonder how they are but then realise it was just a story. I would read other books by this author and I will search for other books by this author. I will also recommend this book to my friends and most likely put it back in the exchange for someone else to enjoy!
