From the first few pages of All The Wrong Places there's a slightly uncomfortable and foreboding atmosphere to the book and the way it's written. Just the scene with the steak made me feel a little weird and gave me a feeling that the man is not to be trusted with his slightly controlling attitude and then it makes it seem like he has deadly plans for the woman he seems to be on a date with. The book cover drew me in but the first part of the story makes me want to stay and read on.
