Disappointing and definitely not thrilling

This book got off to a great start - introducing a serial killer who meets his victims through the world of online dating. I was instantly hooked, but unfortunately the serial killer storyline only contributed to about 10% of the plot, so the tension quickly fizzled out as I realised that the main story was about 4 women and their relationship with each other and various men; Paige, Paige’s mother, Paige’s best friend Chloe and Paige’s estranged cousin Heather.

Now if this had been sold as a drama I think I’d have enjoyed it more but I was really irked by the suggestion that it was a psych thriller when it definitely was not, in fact the obsession with finding a man reminded me more of chick lit. It was such a jumbled up, odd mixture of genres when I think about it. I also found every character irritating as hell, with far, far too much inane chitchat filling up the pages. They were all so annoying it’s a shame the serial killer wasn’t in the book more, to finish them all off!

Sorry but this one just didn’t work for me at all. Others have given it good reviews though so i may be in the minority.
