Having not read anything else by this author before now I had no expectations but this book has easily made it into my top ten favourites of 2019! I read a lot of crime thrillers and the odd chick lit and this book is literally like a chick lit ate a crime thriller - I loved it. A nail biter of a read with family dramas and a serial killer edging ever closer to his next victim.
Paige and her best friend are such likeable characters, I ended up really routing for the pair of them and Paiges Mum is great too. The chapters from the killers point of view were genius and perfectly placed. Everyone felt flawed enough to be real and relatable and the most unlikable character gets their comeuppance- great!
Will definitely be looking out for other books by Joy Fielding.
