And while reading the first two chapters you are struck by the uncertainty that strikes Clemence with his amnesia - he remembers so much from his schooldays but his more recent life is a complete blank and how scary that must be of not knowing what has happened in such a huge chunk of your life. I think it is everyones' fear to be struck by amnesia and having to start from scratch and wondering if any of those memories, whether good or bad, return. Eager to know more!!!
