I love a novel set in the future and the clues as to what Beckett's world looks like made me want to read more. References to a failing UK and USA and a change in the USA which has States fighting against each other, arguing about taking in refugees escaping the chaos and destruction caused by climate change seem an all too likely scenario in the future and I want to find out how Beckett envisages it panning out.
