Though it's generally NOT my type of genre, I still found this really intiruing and insightful. This book is mainly focused around polictics and witnessed through two protagonists - Holly and Richard. The events in the book (as I have seen that a lot of other people have mentioned) was indeed, very close to reality - or a nearby future, or in fact a really accurate prediction.

The read itself did start off quite slow and 'boring' for me - but not to be misguided, it was a very great read and Chris Beckett has an unusual way with putting things into perspective and a way of dealing with words. I'd say this book has a theme of a 'dystopian future' as it's quite eye-opening, showing the consequences we could face. Overall, I was impressed at how I was gripped into the book, even though I never would've thought I'd of enjoyed something out of my comfort zone.
