America city is a book that I would have completely ignored on a shelf as it doesn't look like my style of book. However, reading this book has really made me think about the effects of our actions on future generations.
Beckett has managed to convincingly create a futuristic world with a complex and intriguing political landscape, something I've personally not come across before. The characters are enthralling and so realistic in their strengths and weaknesses.
I particularly love the conflict faced by Holly - between doing what she loves and taking responsibility for the consequences of her work.
At times I felt the pace was a bit slow however the book fast forwards of certain parts just as I think I'm getting bored and I was gripped all over again! Very enjoyable
