When I wrote my first impression of the cover i have to say I really was captured by the cover of the book, it reminded me of a fairy tale but with flecks of horror and secrecy, the cover left you imagining what the woman in pink was thinking and feeling.

This book was definitely not a light read as I thought it would have been, I was immersed (more like drowned) into a world that I really thought would have a light and happy beginning at least but as I wrote in my first impression the book being entirely happy and carefree was definitely thrown out of that mansions dusty and forgotten window (though it could have been St.Bedes or the lavish family home window)

I was completely taken by surprise when this story started with a near fatal accident intended as prank though I felt this was a cover up for an underlying reason which I never did find out.

The so far happy family fall on hard times and have to move in with Geoffreys mother at the rectory home due to a bust company meaning they have to give up their lavish home and lifestyle. This is straining on the married duo as Olivia is forced to take a job away from the family further pushing the relationship to its limits.

I won't reveal anymore of what happens as it would be pointless to read the book with so many spoilers but I have to say this is not a typical romance book as we know them. It leaves you reading on, forgetting you needed to pee hours ago in favour of turning the pages to see how the story unfolds. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
