A re-telling of a classic that won't last the year, let alone the ages.

The concept of the book is great - retelling a classic novel, resetting in modern times, and it's been done before very successfully (Bridget Jones' Diary, Clueless, West Side Story).
Sadly, this is not one of those times.
From the very first paragraph, it is obvious that the writer is trying too hard to create a different world, over-using modern language and references, which may be understood now, but are unlikely to be understood in even one years time.
The first paragraph alone contains one swear word, and 5 references to modern day culture e.g. AppleWatch, SoulCycle, gluten-free diet and, horror of horrs, the word "sesh" (not ironically, not in dialogue, just as a genuine use of the word in a sentence).
The story is good - we know that because Anna Karenina is still considered a classic 150 years later. However, I can't imagine who will enjoy this book or how it will draw in a new audience for the much-loved tale.
