Unfortunately I couldn't get into this book. I was given an earc via net galley before it came out as I was excited at the idea of a gossip girl esque retelling of Anna Karinena by Leo Tolstoy.
The earc formatting of the book made it really difficult to read, and after a couple of pages I had to put the book down.
I'm not a fan of contemporary usually, and this one fell flat for me. It was very info-dumpy in the beginning, and left me feeling really lost as to what was going on.
Perhaps I will go back to the book if I stumble upon a physical copy somewhere, but I think i would rather just read the original text it was inspired by. I do, however, really like the idea of the Asian representation that this book has, especially with not only recent events but in general. I can think of only a handful of books with Asian characters as the main characters, and so having more is always amazing.
