I think the novel is highly refreshing by combining the well-loved staples of any piece of fiction incorporating of a New York setting, as well as making sure to stick to similar themes as the classic story of Anna. The slight changing of the title of the book from Anna Karenina to Anna K additionally gives the book a more modern revamped feel to it, whilst again, also continuing on the original aspects which have been loved for years.
Although the book is quite lengthy and contains a significant amount of characters, detail and plot twists, it is an immensely cosy read and is super easy to pick up where you left off. Perfect for fans of Gossip Girl or any reality television show: packed with drama, scandal and romance.
