Well, this was a surprise but not at the same time! It was glorious, I have previously stated that I have read Anna Karenina and would love a retelling and this did it justice I tell you. Such a great idea, to make them all teenagers and set in the west - a great modern twist! Anna's character was actually lovable and someone you could relate to in so many ways, unlike her original counterpart. The fact that Jenny Lee managed to do this is no mean feat! It was funny and chaotic and so much fun! It takes place over a year which I love as most YA novels nowadays seem to take place over days and can seem a little unrealistic. This book would make such a good Netflix program! (I think this is actually in the works for it). This is one classic retelling that I adore and highly recommend.
