This is a retelling of Anna Karenina in te modern word. For those who have read the book, the story is familiar, but the setting is not, which is quite interesting. It's a great idea, but some elements from this first chapters bothered me a little.
There were too much efforts to make it realistic, but it didn’t sound natural. For instance, too much brands that make the reading a little "heavy". Then abreviations that even though are meant to go along with the modern background, shock me in a novel (fb, irl, gf, bff …). Along with the fact that there are no full last names, it doesn’t seem "serious".
I would probably not want to read it if it was not an adaptation of Anna Karenina. What’s nice is that it’s really close from the original novel. Or is it too much ? Now I want to find out. I hope it distances from the original later. I think these first three chapters do not show enough of the novel for me to get an idea: Anna wasn’t even introduced yet !
