As soon as I saw this book featured on Readers First I had a feeling that I already knew a bit about it. This was because the title `Anna K' reminded me of another story that I had heard of. I have never read Leo Tolstoy`s Anna Karenina before , but this is what the new book put me in mind of. So when I received my copy in the post I was quite surprised to see the cover was gold and white with ANNA KARENINA, with the Karenina crossed out and a K added instead. There was also a second cover inside with the bright picture of a young girl on it as featured on the Readers First website.
So I was intrigued and started reading it straight away. I found it was a story about rich young Americans and I thought it was not my sort of thing and was probably written with young readers in mind. However since doing some research on the Anna Karenina story, I am sure that Anna K is a sort of modern day version of the original story. Now I am very interested in reading the original story that was written in the 19th century.
