I was intrigued by the title and the retelling of a brilliant book. Not my usual read but it is well written and I enjoyed following the characters on their journey through the story. This is a new author for me and I would like to read more.
I always enjoy reading a book that is set in a place I have visited, it helps me to visualize the background. We get an insight into life for the people living in New York’s Upper East Side area. I did find it a bit ‘how the other half live’, but I didn’t mind that

I enjoyed the interaction between the characters, but kept trying to refer back to the original characters in the Tolstoy book.
