This is one for young adults. Popular cultural references abound in this novel of vast riches and teenage relationships. It is slick and stylish.
Although Anna is the central character, Dustin is the first character we meet. He is propelled into this world of excess. I found that a bit much at times. If we are meant to be awed by the lifestyles of these characters then I'm afraid to say I wasn't. I would find it hard to read an entire novel where this was the background to the story.
The writing is funny, cynical at times and would certainly appeal to many. Descriptions are vivid and characters conveyed well through physical description, as well as witty dialogue.
