If you were a lover of the Gossip Girl series (book or TV show) then you will enjoy this book. It truly resonates the elitist lifestyle that GG was known for, but in a modern and accessible way, not only tackling but also showcasing some of the varied issues facing young people in a modern world.

I wondered before reading if I would actually feel too old for this book, but through the use of more regularly used youthful language, and the content surrounding more mature topics (drugs/sex) I was even more drawn in, and completed the book within one weekend!

The artwork on the cover is eye catching and provides some premise to the story within, but I feel this appeals to a younger audience, and would perhaps alienate some from picking up the book on a whim.

This is a modern retelling of the classic Anna Karenina which I haven’t read, yet I would be interested to see the comparison between the original and this, it’s modern day counterpart.
