It is very rare that I start a book and don't finish it, but I am afraid this one was a DNF at about 60%. I have never read Anna Karenina and thought this modern day retelling of the story, might be a lovely introduction to the book, and I really wanted to enjoy it, but sadly it has put me off.
Now, I am sure some readers would love this book, and I realise that it is YA, and I am not in that age range but for me the endless pages of rich kids and what they get up to was too much. I also thought that glamourising drug taking in a book aimed at teenagers was in poor taste. There is also sex and lots of bad language in its pages.
Sorry, I wanted to like it, but this one was not really for me.
