I was keen to try and read something outside of the books that usual grab my attention.
As you may have gathered the book is based on Anna Karenina - I haven’t read the original so can’t comment on how closely the story follows. But Anna K follows the lives of several rich, privileged New Yorkers. It reminded me of Gossip girl and I found the characters easy to visualise which I really like when reading a book. However I found the characters a little irritating and superficial - all about the drugs and the partying.
Overall I think I’m probably not who this book is aimed at and it’s likely that younger readers, maybe late teens to twenties would enjoy it. I’m going to pass it on to my younger friends who I think will love it!
