I’m fairly sure that I am not the target demographic for Anna K but I decided to give it a go - good to try new things etc! Having never read Anna Karenina before I wasn’t familiar with the story so didn’t know what I should be expecting. I found the characters to be somewhat irritating, rich New Yorkers living highly indulgent lives aren’t my usual choice of protagonists. Overall I enjoyed parts of this book but think it would be better suited to a younger reader, maybe late teens or early twenties. The writing was good and the story flowed well but this one is just not for me overall. I would be interested in going back to read the original Anna K just to see how true to this the rewrite has been. Thanks to Readers First for the opportunity to read and review.
