I absolutely loved this book!
It was well written and perfectly executed.
The modern twist on the classic tale brings the story on to a more relatable platform.
Modern age knows all about the rich and famous and the glitz and the glam. We idolise and we fantasise and this book doesn’t shy away from that.
The author is clever enough to add ‘normal’ problems to a world only a handful of people will ever experience and it makes the characters relatable.
Anna K is a perfect example of this! She’s your average girl. She is clever and pretty. Caring and considerate.
Whilst the ending doesn’t perfectly mirror Tolstoy’s original the depravity of a happy ending is still heart breaking all the same. I wish it ended differently but also glad it doesn’t. It was a nice twist.
