I don't usually read this kind of genre, I guess you could call it "Chick lit" or even YA but as it had a connection with Tolstoy and was dubbed an updated retelling of his Anna Karenina I was curious.
Full of modern social issues, alcohol, drugs, sex this really was a glamourised version set in modern day Manhattan and Greenwich.
The pivotal character is of course Anna around whom we see the teenage angst and problems of the other teenagers of her social clique.
Anna is the poised, "together" character with a perfect life and boyfriend and then she meets Alexia Count Vronsky and her life is turned upside down.
A dazzling tale of teen society and the moneyed lifestyle this was a quirky, fun romance packed with interesting characters.
