The plot for this book starts with the simple premise – what would you do if you were approached by your first love and asked to help them disappear from an abusive relationship?
From this premise develops a complex and evolving plot that pulls you in and leaves you breathless with the twists in the plot that become increasingly dark. It is both a story that draws you in and at times also makes you uncomfortable especially where the back story of Billy, Mia and Aimee are concerned and the issues that these raise are never fully resolved. The characters are never developed to the extent that you are never surprised by what happens next and as such this helps to add to the atmosphere and the thrill of not knowing what will happen next.
Without revealing the plot it is safe to say that what makes a relationship either formal or informal is questioned as is the issue of identity both in the emotional and practical sense. Added to the mix are property fraud, theft and stolen identity.
I haven’t come across this author before but on the basis of this book I will be seeking to read his previous books.
