Firstly, i’m struck by the authour’s honesty and openness about his own mental health issues. His letter to the reader adds authenticity to the story that follows.

We find ourselves in a mental health hospital for young children, observing their interactions during group therapy. The next chapter takes us back to the characters lives before they ended up here, we see Julius with his family in Nigeria and Georgia with her father. How did their lives change so dramatically. We the reader know where these characters will end up. How will this knowdge shape our reaction to thei before life? Will there be an after that takes them back to a positive way of life? I have read a previous novel by Muchamore and thoroughly enjoyed that, this looks set not to disappoint either!

In this time of overwhelm, I am hopeful this book will make us reflect on the importance of our own mental health and looking after it.
