Was quite surprised with the opening letter to the reader about the author's own mental health struggle. It put me a bit on the back foot that this was maybe going to be a bit more real than my usual reading choices, but the extract put my mind to rest that this isn't the case. It does start off in a psychiatric hospital, then jumps back to the two viewpoints of the characters we just met (one in Nigeria another in the UK) - but well before they ever got to where we first meet them - they seem in a completely different place in their lives in the flashback, so what happened to them that led them to being committed to the psychiatric hospital? And then what happens next
