well this was a pleasant surprise. I’ve heard of Michael Muchamore before as he is a firm favourite being a teacher, it is a firm favourite amongst my year 8 form. He writes fantastic novels for a young adult audience as he addresses serious concepts but still has an element of humour. The characters are relatable, especially for the young adult audience that it is aimed for.
The front cover is engaging, bright but mysterious at the same time and doesn’t really give up away.
I would definitely recommend this for a young adult audience but perhaps not older than this as I don’t think it would appeal. There’s also some older adult themes so I would say age 14 plus. Overall a good read.
