I should clarify the title by saying I'm not the target demographic for this book and it's not my usual genre. For all that though I really quite enjoyed it. We find the two main protagonists in a mental health facility at the start of the book and it then tracks back so we can see how they got there.
There's a ton of weighty themes to grapple with - homosexuality, the power of social media, Nigerian corruption, death to name but a few.
For all that it has a lightness of touch which means that you're touched by all of these issues but don't feel like you've been hammered across the head with it all.
The characters are relatable and tenacious - even though each has been swept away by circumstances often out of their control. It's proof that every individual can make a difference!
