The first thing that struck me was the note from the author and how courageous he was to tell us his personal story and how it helped to portray this novel. I have a lot of respect for that. I also think that the writing style of the novel is suited well with starting at the present then going back a year to see how everyone ended up in the mental institute.

As we find out more about the characters past it becomes more easy to like the character whereas we have no background on him he comes across as a spoilt bright.

A new character comes into the mental hospital called Julian with a bit of a back story which again makes us feel like we want to know more.

I would definitely buy this book as it has an intriguing story and I was particularly moved by the authors note and experience which would make me want to read the rest of the novel and see how things end for Georgia and Julian end.
