This is different from my usual type of read but I was keen to try it after reading the first impression. It was really interesting to have Julian and Georgia's stories running in parallel and wondering how the 2 would link together. The love story between Julian and Duke was really compelling and sad as from very early on you can tell there is unlikely to be a happy ending for them. I thought the book was going to explore mental health more but it became more about Georgia's legal case. I couldn't quite sympathise with her except to remind myself that she was only 14. I didn't quite like the public response to her case as I don't think she would have had the same treatment if she was a young Muslim, maybe that was partly the point? A good read overall but not quite what I was expecting.
