Artic Zoo follows two teens who come very different backgrounds and the challenges they are going through. Georgia is from England and is rebelling against being a straight A student and all the opportunities this would offer as a way of cooping after a family tragedy occurs. Whereas Julius is from Nigeria and is trying to escape his oppressive family to pursue a life he wants and the freedom to choose who he loves. Both of them end up in an Mental Health Unit in the UK, where this story recalls the events that led them to there.
I really liked this story and found this a great story that tackles some important issues facing society such as mental health, sexuality, politics and corruption in a way that was clear and honest and really made me think.
