This is the first book I have read by Muchamore and I will definitely be reading more of his work as this novel was brilliant!
Muchamore’s story telling is so compelling and I found this book completely unputdownable. I mean I literally didn’t put it down I finished it in a day! The author’s no nonsense and straight to the point style of writing worked so well within this story and kept me wanting more.
The stories of the two main protagonists flowed alongside each other really well and I loved how they ended up connected towards the end of the novel. I also liked the subtle links between the lives of Julius & Georgia; themes such as politics, rebellion, loss, and change. This really helped to make the book cohesive.
This novel touched on so many important issues relevant to society today and I think this is part of what made the book so impactful. On the whole just a fantastic book - a must read!
