I like the fact we start by seeing things from Khalid's point of view and the response he gets/prejudice he encounters to his devout religious observance. I'm hoping his views aren't being associated with the pride element of the allusions to Austen's Pride and Prejudice. I already heartily dislike Sheila but I'm going to generously put her down as misguided rather than malevolent. I like the gentle, self-deprecating humour such as Khalid's mother's comment about limiting guests at a wedding to 600 as 'anymore is showing off'.

The book looks as it will explore tradition, culture, prejudice and multiculturalism but in a spirited, humorous and accessible way.
