I really enjoyed this book. The story is based on Pride and Prejudice and the Mr Darcy element is definitely captured in Khalid. I thought there were just enough links to pride and prejudice but it wasn't a direct copy, there were enough original bits to it. The characters are really well written and I was rooting for Ayesha and Khalid from the start, which is important in a love story. The book explores prejudices and assumptions we make about people based on their behaviour and how they dress. It was really interesting to see some of the situations from different characters points of view to see how misunderstandings can happen, especially where there are cultural differences, but also how within the Muslim culture there were a lot of judgements made of each other. I would definitely look out for other books by the same author as I thoroughly enjoyed this story.
