This modern retelling of Pride and Prejudice, set in Canada with Muslim leads is an enjoyable read.
The two lead characters Ayesha and Khalid come from very different muslim backgrounds, his very strongly Orthodox, and hers a more modern Western take.
On paper they shouldn't get on, but love has a way, and despite many obstacles, they eventually get together.
This is not a new story.... The fact it is based on Pride and Prejudice will tell you that....but it is a different take on the story, and it was interesting to learn much about Muslim traditions as the book unfolded.
It moves along at a good pace, and all of the characters are well developed, and for the most part likeable. The writing is bright and breezy. I enjoyed it.
