What a lovely book. Pride and Prejudice is one of my favourite books and I am always interested in variations on the theme. I'm glad to say that this is one of the better ones and I didn't want it to finish.
The main characters are Ayesha and Khalid. Both have deceased fathers, but thats where the similarity stops. Ayesha is quite independent, working as a supply teacher and dreaming of the day when she could become a poet. Her family are not pushing her in the direction of marriage, arranged or otherwise, in fact her mother appears to have quite negative views of marriage. Khalid on the other hand is happy to let his domineering mother find him a wife. He is quite pious and proud to display his religious views in his clothing and beard. Throw in a case of mistaken identify, a boss with a problem with Khalid, best friends, absent sisters and you set off a chain of events that change both their lives.
