I have mixed feelings about this book.

The beginning started off strong where it described the trouble Khalid encountered at work, the story then moved onto his family and also his beliefs around his religion, love and marriage. Parallel to this we were being introduced to Ayesha, her family, her teaching job, her poetry and her good friend Clara. I especially enjoyed reading how Clara and Ayesha supported each other. This part of the story was great and easy to read. However then towards the ending the story took a bizarre turn which I did not feel was in keeping with the rest of the book - here is where I felt like I was reading an entirely different book from the first half.

Overall I enjoyed the book and the desriptions were so well fleshed out that I found the environment and the characters easy to picture. I found all the characters had a part to play and added something to the overall story.
